Franchisee of FASTSIGNS Featured in Sign Builder Illustrated

A true model of a successful franchisee, Howard James was recently featured in an article written by Sign Builder Illustrated. Owning his own FASTSIGNS store in Washington, D.C. for nearly 14 years, James quickly transitioned from art teacher to the sole owner and operator of the first FASTSIGNS location in the D.C. area.

With a background in graphic design, passion for art, and dedication to delivering exceptional customer experiences, James came across FASTSIGNS out of pure necessity in 2007. Tired of driving around 40 minutes outside of D.C. for his own specialty signs, he wanted to bring something with more convenience directly into the D.C. area. When he came across FASTSIGNS, it was a match made in heaven.

When James opened his FASTSIGNS store in D.C., his beginning staff included just three people. “The three of us just put our heads down, got to work, and grew it,” he says, noting they’ve grown to as many as twenty employees. He thanks his staff in helping his location become what it is today. “Make sure you find, train, and keep a great staff, because they are the key to growth,” he shared.

Howard James is one of the hundreds of franchisees that have found success in FASTSIGNS.
